Dr. Rudolf Müller, born April 11th, 1947 in Vienna; attended school in Vienna, graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium Vienna Döbling in 1965; student of law at the University of Vienna; doctorate (Dr.iur.) in 1970; military service; occupation as contract agent at the Ministry of Social Administration (now: Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection) from 1971 to 1973; civil service exam (“Verwaltungsdienstprüfung”) 1973; afterwards traineeship at court, and from 1974 on candidate lawyer; bar exam in 1977; lawyer from 1977 to 1989; judge at the Supreme Administrative Court (privy councillor from 1990 to 2005, President of Senate from 2006 to 2012, Head of the Presidium (“Präsidialvorstand”) from 1993 to 1998, retired since January 1st, 2013); chairman of the Commission for the long-term protection of pensions (“Kommission zur langfristigen Pensionssicherung gemäß § 108e ASVG”) from 2013 to 2016; teaching activity at the University of Salzburg (license to teach Labour and Employment Law as an honorary professor in 1997) and at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU); member of the Austrian Society for Labor and Employment Law (“Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Arbeitsrecht und Sozialrecht”); president of the Austrian Commission of Jurists since May 2016; 2017 honoray doctor of Laws from the University of Salzburg; alternate member from 1995 to 1998 and member of the Constitutional Court from 1998 to 2017; repeatedly elected permanent reporter; nominated for constitutional judge by the National Council.
